Our mission
Pampering and enriching (foreign) visitors to Amsterdam in the warm, green and authentic hinterlands just 15 minutes from the city
Comfortable, sustainable, social and with free choice of stops for our guests.
Durable, by running the cleanest diesel buses available, and eventually with clean electric buses.
Social, local residents are socially involved and guide the guests in the country they are proud of.
Jan Schake
Together with his wife Tieke Roosen owner and winemaker of vineyard De Amsteltuin in Amstelveen.
Before becoming an entrepreneur he has worked mainly as a director in social insurance and reintegration services.
His passion for “the enjoyment of life” is reflected in the concept of the Green Line.
As initiator of the GreenLine, he acts as chairman of the GreenLine Foundation.
Mark Groen
I am born and raised in Amstelveen, educated in Tourism, almost 30 years of experience working in the travel industry (NBBS, Hotelplan, Neckermann, De Jong Intra, Thomas Cook & Belvilla). My wife is National and Guidor guide in Amsterdam. For this reason I am well informed about the rapidly growing tourism industry in and around Amsterdam. Our GreenLine idea has captured me from day 1. I am happy and proud to be co-founder of such a promising startup and happy to give our visitors a professional and authentic look into my Amsterdam and its surroundings.
Edwin van Reijsen
With a history as an industrial designer, Edwin sees the world just a little different than the everyday man or woman. Versatile and with a local heart.
He has worked for online ticketing companies, gets how social media works and makes an effort for the local entrepreneurs. He is proud of the Amstelland and this makes him a perfect fit as the director of the Greenline. Even though his heart is bound locally, Edwin is very internationally oriented.
A little about
Our Foundation
The GreenLine is invented and designed by Jan Schake, Mark Groen and Peter de Lange.
This enthusiastic threesome has decided to create the Foundation GreenLine, in which we invite stakeholders, municipalities and entrepreneurs to participate.
The objectives of the Foundation are:
- Unlocking the authentic Green Zone around Amsterdam for visitors of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area
- Sustainability
- Community involvement and
- Economic development.
The keywords for the visitors are: flexible, green, fun, close to the city center and visit authentic Holland.
A respite from the bustle of the city: within 15 minutes you are in the green, silent and traditional countryside. You can get acquainted with the local people, their lives and their products. You decide where you get on and where you get off. The hosts can tell you anything you want to know about what you can do at each stop. On your roadmap and on our site, you can see exactly where is what.
The tour is especially suitable for couples, the elderly and families with children.
